Believe it or not...I am excited to be back in the classroom. I missed my students and the daily buzz of middle school! And my own kids were driving me nuts at home :)
I am amazed at how quickly we are back in the routines of things. This is the joy of looping with my students. We know one another well. The students know the expectations and the classroom routines and this allows us to get started with the Literacy Frameworks. Students have already taken their first pre-assessment for Unit One, which focuses on the differences between expository and narrative text. Students will also be taking a closer look at quality notebook entries when they begin reading their first independent narrative text - which will be coming home by Friday! So start bugging them about their independent reading.
